The Gas Installers - About The Company

The Gas Installers was formed in 2005 and was intended to be a business to business contractor to supply plumbing, heating and gas services on a sub-contractive basis to other companies, the formation of the company brought to the table years of industry experience covering both old and developing technologies.

The company was very successful, holding contracts to provide such services to some large local and national companies.

It was then decided at the end of 2006 to begin to embark on a different part, after all the company had always been about customer service and looking after the customers but the end-users where not receive our excellent relationships as these would just develop with people in charge of contractors.

In 2007 with a view to becoming a domestic company offering its services to every single person in East Kent, allowing them to experience the customer friendly approach and good honest work, the company applied and was granted CORGI registration (231736), so as to be able to have its employees to be directly employed by the company and work on gas. During 2007 we also became a member of the FSB (Federation of Small Businesses) all the time picking up new business and continuing to grow into a well recognised brand.

All our Fully Qualified engineers are CORGI registered, hold there energy efficiency certificate

July 2008, We where successfully enrolled onto the membership of The Chartered Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineering (CIPHE), at associate level, we hope to upgrade this to full member within the next 18-24 months, as part of this process we agreed to follow the CIPHE’s codes of practice.

Having serviced so far over 475 properties we are growing from strength to strength, adding numerous agents and landlords to our books as well as adding additional qualifications and competencies to our engineer portfolio, looking at and investigating emerging markets and renewable “green” technologies. Keeping abreast with latest government grants and guidelines including Part L and Part G

Still to come in 2008/2009

Well it should be an exciting 18 months, our 18 month plan allows for expansion of services, accreditation and competencies, this includes the following:

We are hoping to add at least one additional accreditation to our current list, which we are currently undergoing audit and checking for.

We are hoping to add the following additional competencies to all our engineers over the coming year

  • Unvented Hot Water
  • Portable Appliance Testing (PAT Testing)
  • Water Regulations

We are also looking at adding the following additional competencies, and are currently investigating costs and best practices although they may not all roll out over the next 18 months we are seriously considering everyone as a possibility

  • Solar Hot Water
  • Air to Air Heat Pumps
  • Air Conditioning
  • Rain Water Harvesting

We hope to have some of our engineers trained and certified for electrics under Part P, at a defined scope and hopefully the addition of level A

As well as the above we hope to have and undertake manufacture training and recommendation as well as being classed as accredited installers.
